Denver International Airport (KDEN)
Denver International Airport is, at least by land
mass, the largest international airport in the
United States. It ranks as the 11th busiest airport
in the world, and is located just north east of
Denver. DIA is the major hub for Frontier Airlines,
the 2nd biggest hub for United Airlines, and also a
major hub for Southwest Airlines.
The airport features a distinctive white 'tent like'
roof, the brings forth imagery of the nearby Rocky
Mountains in the wintertime. A special baggage claim
area exists solely to serve visiting Skiiers and
Snowboarders that choose to bring their own
equipment.
Though its not in Denver itself, getting to and from
the airport is quite easy. There are nearly a dozen
on site car rental agencies, taxis, and numerous
local and regional busses. The RTD skyRide is
particularly convenient, providing a cheap direct
bus ride to the airport from a variety of different
cities in the region.
